Renal Fibrosis
The
members of this group include Dr Ya-Chung Tian, Dr I-Jung Li, Dr
Cheng-Hao Weng, and Dr Hsin-Hsu Wu.
In the past
year, we have examined the role of toll-like receptors in the
Leptospira santorosai serovar Shermani outer membrane protein
(OMP)-induced increase of fibronectin in renal proximal tubular
cells. In addition, we have also investigated the impact of
immunosuppressants on polyomavirus BK (BKV) replication.
Finally, we have also discovered that BKV replication can be
regulated by its micro-RNA, miR-B1.
The
achievements of our group in the past year include three
published articles:
1. Leptospira santorosai serovar Shermani
detergent extract induced an increases in
fibronectin production through a toll-like
receptor2-mediated pathway
